The Partner visa, also known as the Spouse visa allows a spouse or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia.
You can apply for a partner visa either onshore or offshore, that is, in or outside Australia however you must meet certain requirements in order to be eligible to apply.
In most cases, eligible applicants are granted temporary residency initially before they can qualify for permanent residency. Same-sex couples can also apply for this visa if they are in a de facto relationship.
